Liquid and vapor-phase nitrogen have nearly the same temperature, which is why temperature is not a very accurate measurement of the volume of liquid nitrogen inside a cryotank. Unlike temperature, we monitor the evaporation of liquid nitrogen, allowing us to almost immediately detect a failure event & giving you up to 84 hours sooner notice than a temperature-based monitoring system. 

Yes, our technology is secure. As an AWS-based operation, we leverage the robust security features inherent in cloud architecture and utilize AWS managed services to enhance our security posture. We maintain SOC compliance to ensure our security practices meet industry standards. Additionally, we conduct annual penetration testing and regularly scan our code for vulnerabilities. This comprehensive approach ensures that our infrastructure and applications remain protected against emerging threats.

It does not! We know how easily wifi can go down, and don’t want our customers or your samples to be compromised by that. Our system utilizes cellular LTE and triangulates between all major carriers to provide service. If there are concerns about the cellular service at your lab, we’ll coordinate implementation of a cell booster. 

Nope! We know how important it is to be able to move tanks around in the lab, so we built our system to be remote. The tank module works on a battery – it takes an hour to charge, and maintains the charge for 3+ months. The battery life of each system is easily viewed at the top of each ‘Tank Dashboard’ page. Additionally, our system will send out a low battery notification to alert you when the battery has reached 15%.

No, you do not! We lease the hardware to you and will replace damaged products to ensure your precious samples remain protected, 24/7. 

At this time, we work with all small volume cryotanks 50L or less with a maximum diameter of 20.5”, regardless of manufacturer. Our support arms are adjustable to meet your cryotank’s needs. If you’d like us to confirm a specific tank, feel free to reach out to us at sales@boreasmonitoring.com.

Yes! While the weighing platform does add height to the tanks, we kept in mind that standard counter height is 36”. Our system adds about 5.5”, bringing the height of the tank to ~32”, allowing for plenty of space. Additionally, our support arms add 2.5” in diameter to the tanks.
